An ADU – Accessory Dwelling Units is a second unit that is no more than 1,200 square feet and is also commonly referred to as a cottage, granny flat, in-law unit, secondary unit and so forth, provides an effective option for adding housing in California.
The California Housing Finance Agency is offering up to $40,000 in grant funds to help with AUD builds. These funds are to reimburse pre-development construction costs and non-reoccurring closing costs. These costs include site preparation, designs, soil tests, impact fees, permits, survey, and energy reports. To quality in Placer and Nevada Country, household parties must have an income of less than $180,000.
